Recently, GOP congresswoman Michelle Steel announced that a $15.5 million budget for Surfside-Sunset and Newport Beach Replenishment Project has been approved. The funds will be appropriated for the upcoming fiscal year as part of the Energy and Water Development and Related Agency Funding Bill. The success of this venture is due in part to Steel’s relentless efforts and the support of Orange County leaders.

“The federal government took responsibility for sand erosion in this area more than half a century ago, but for the past decade has failed to act to keep our beach communities safe. I’ve worked with local stakeholders for nearly a decade to ensure our beaches are healthy and our residents are protected. This is an exciting first step. We’ll continue to work together to get this project done,” said Rep. Steel.

Aside from serving as Representative for California’s 48th congressional district, Steel is also a member of House Minority Whip Steve Scalise’s Whip Team for the 117th Congress. Furthermore, Steel, who is an important component of the Orange County Board of Supervisors, was given commendation by her colleagues for her most recent accomplishment.

“We appreciate that Congresswoman Steel has championed this important coastal project and given it much-needed momentum. This project is long awaited and vitally important for preserving Orange County’s beaches,” said Newport Beach Mayor Brad Avery.

“The beaches of Orange County have been slowly eroding for decades. Many in the media and in politics have incorrectly posited the cause to be “global warming” and the accompanying rising sea levels,” said Surfside Storm Water Protection District President John Kriss.

“The City appreciates the extraordinary efforts led by Representative Steel in collaboration with several other public agencies. We are very excited to learn that we are significantly closer to funding sand nourishment at Surfside,” said Seal Beach Mayor Joe Kalmick.

“We are excited and grateful that the Surfside-Sunset replenishment project, which includes Newport Beach, has passed another significant hurdle and we remain optimistic that it will soon come to fruition,” said Newport Beach Council Member Diane Dixon.

“Our beaches are the bedrock of our community. Sand replenishment will protect our residents and help our tourism economy. I am grateful for Congresswoman Steel’s leadership in securing funding for this long overdue project,” said Orange County Supervisor Katrina Foley.

A loyal Trump ally and a true conservative, the South Korean-born Michelle Steel seems to care more about the country that nurtured and accepted her, compared to most Democrats who were born on American soil.

Gold Star father David Horton slammed President Joe Biden in a meeting Sunday, scrutinizing the Biden organization’s accounted for plan to convey huge financial installments to some migrant families.

The Wall Street Journal announced last week about the arrangement to pay migrant families affected by previous President Donald Trump’s zero-tolerance illegal immigration policies.

The Biden administration is in talks to offer immigrant families that were separated during the Trump administration around $450,000 a person in compensation, according to people familiar with the matter, as several agencies work to resolve lawsuits filed on behalf of parents and children who say the government subjected them to lasting psychological trauma.

“To compare an illegal person who has broken our country’s border laws … they’ve broken the law coming in on our borders and to compare that with someone, a patriot like my son, who gave his all on the battlefield of Afghanistan, and to just say, ‘Oh well, the value is more for someone who has broken our laws’ … and now to say, ‘Oh, we owe you money — and it’s more money than we would pay a patriot — I am outraged,” Horton said.

“You just wonder, where is the outcry against some of these policies that are just there? Unbelievable to me,” Horton added.
